Vladimir Putin as a Byzantine Emperor
Medium
A horse-mounted portrait, wearing a golden mask as eastern roman emperors did in parades. Moscow is the third Rome, after Rome and Constantinople, as a legitimate inheritance of eastern Christianity, since Czar Ivan III married Sophia Paleologue, niece of the last eastern roman emperor Constantine XI, and the Czars’ coat of arms rightly displays the double-headed eagle, as much as Russia today. All is purple and green, and gold, legitimate imperial colors. Just the boot is in red, a symbol of courage. Obviously, a regard to Russia as a sacred land for eastern Christianity, still alive today despite decades of Soviet despotism. Dedicated to all those who do not consider the importance of historical heritage , a warning.Artist
